"I guess I was caught somewhere between delusions
of grandeur and a deep, sincere belief that I was born (in some
way) to be great. One fateful day however, I made an
honest comparison between the works I'd been doing and the works of
artists that I considered to be great. The gap I'd found, separating
the two, was more than humbling.
It was there and then,
when the bubble burst, that the work , which I'm still doing
today, really began.
The deep feeling of destiny
took charge as a driving, unsatisfied passion. Where I had been using
my bag of skills to paint great-looking pictures... suddenly and relentlessly,
I began pouring my `Self ' onto the paper.
I was painting honesty!
It felt like hitting a mother
lode in a goldmine ... a bottomless source of inspiration...
I was finding myself... learning
to believe in myself.
This wasn't about pictures
any more, this was about feelings... they just kept coming.
Maybe that is the fine line
which separates art from craft."
